In conversation with Shahed Ezaydi, Dalia Al-Dujaili discusses her book Babylon, Albion and considers what it means to belong in your land. She traces the rich heritage of the earth beneath our feet and the wildlife that call it home. A love song to Britain, Iraq and the body of earth we hold in common, Babylon, Albion is a compelling re-imagining of what it means to be native.

Dalia Al-Dujaili [she/her] is a British-born Iraqi writer, editor and producer. She is the online editor of The British Journal of Photography. Her writing has appeared in The Guardian, Dazed, Stylist, GQ and more. She is the founder of The Road to Nowhere Magazine. Babylon, Albion is her first book.

Shahed Ezaydi [she/her] is a writer and editor, specialising in features and reporting on culture, social issues and feminism. She’s currently working as a full-time writer at Stylist Magazine, as well as the editor of the Peaks of Colour Nature Journal. Shahed is also the author of The Othered Woman: How White Feminism Harms Muslim Women, which is her upcoming debut book.
