Meditations on Red (Edition Four)
Meditations on Red (Edition Four) is a workshop led by Maia Magoga exploring the emotive qualities of red in all its rage, love and heart opening abilities. Exploring food as a love language and as a site of alchemical transformation, this edition of Meditations on Red explores the medicinal and emotive qualities of some red foods that are known to aid both the physical and emotional heart. In the session we will be learning about their properties while also using these foods to create our own fermented hot sauces to take home.
Thursday 2 October 6.30–8pm
Pipoca Vegan, 224 Brixton Rd, London SW9 6AH

Maia Magoga [she/her] is a London-born Brazilian / Argentinian artist and facilitator working at the intersection of food, image-making and social-arts. Moving between the social and ecological dimensions of food, Maia is interested in the ways it connects communities while also shaping the landscapes around us. She considers food to be her primary love language, a ritual tool for sharing magic and a space for collective healing. She explores this through various avenues like foraging, cooking, performative meals, workshops, printed matter, writing and drawing.
