PARTICIPATE:
The Vincent Vanpalooza
A Dadaist Flower Couture Workshop
The Vincent Vanpalooza is a vibrant, community art event led by artist Sol Golden Sato, inviting 15–20 children and their parents to co-create wearable floral couture inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s lesser-known flower paintings and everyday still life objects. Through a Dadaist workshop, participants will design and construct surreal, cardboard-based hybrid costumes. The workshop culminates in a joyful street parade around the Van Gogh House in Stockwell, London, transforming the neighbourhood into a living, blooming artwork and eventually joining up with the Mythical Creature workshop in Van Gogh Walk.
This event is suitable for children aged 6-12. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Booking essential.
Sunday 28 September 10am–12.30pm
Van Gogh House, 87 Hackford Road, London SW9 0RE

Sol Golden Sato [he/him] is a Malawian artist whose work is rooted in painting but expands into sculpture, performance, architecture, and mass participation to empower children and communities through creativity. Known for transforming everyday materials into playful, wearable spectacles, Sol invites children and communities to become co-creators in projects that turn streets into stages. While his work often addresses serious issues, he is most inspired by the wild, unfiltered creativity of children.
