Yard Work
Is it about the journey or the end? Throughout our lives we’re negotiating and interacting with spaces. Not just physically, but also on a cultural and emotional level. In a city where we’re constantly negotiating and interacting with spaces that are granted to us, there's a magic that exists in the way we can collectively intervene or occupy our everyday spaces to better serve and reflect our own values and needs—be it with space, sounds or even taste to name a few. If only we’re given the opportunity…
Along with some of the local creative residents, join us for an afternoon to ‘cultivate’ the outdoor space of LJ Works by repurpose and reimagine the found and salvaged materials available to hand.
Saturday 20 September 3.30–5pm
LJ Works, 5 Gastineau Yard SW9 7FA

Bamidele Awoyemi [he/him] is an artist and designer of Yoruba descent. His interests lie in the overlaps between different cultures and values with his work questioning and speculating on networks, systems, and the ‘choreography’ of everyday life. Through playful subversion and storytelling he’s been fortunate to engage with a variety of mediums and spaces across other disciplines including art, film, sets, exhibition design, curation, and collective acts.
